Kurtis' Tumor

Author: Mike and Melanie

Well, today we were at the hospital, Kurtis had to receive a platelet transfusion (thank you everyone that donates blood and platelets by the way!) We also do a CT scan and a echo cardiogram (heart ultrasound). The results of the CT scan were very favorable. The tumor has shrunk, it has also pulled away from the heart a bit. We are so happy. On Friday Kurtis will be going in again for a MRI to see where the tumor is in relation to his spine. Kurtis is so funny, every time we go into the hospital for anything, he gets all excited and flirts with EVERYONE. The nurses are all in love with him, it is so nice that his attitude is so good :) Anyways, we are preparing for Kurtis' surgery, getting more excited and more nervous everyday. This picture by the way is a special scan that they did to see his tumor, they injected him with this stuff that would light up any cancer and then took an X-ray type picture, I thought it would be fun for all to see. (The tumor is the big circle in his chest on the left.) Thanks again everyone! We will continue to update as we have news. :)
