Baby Kurtis in the ICU
Author: Daddy Mikey Goodrich
For those of you who may not know this. Our little boy Kurtis has a tumor in his chest. We have not heard the absolute official word on the situation, but all the signs point to that he has cancer. We took him to the hospital on Friday September 28th because we thought that he had some kind of respiratory infection. Four days later, the doctors discovered a tumor in his chest that was keeping his left lung from expanding and pushing his heart over to the right side of his body. The surgeons performed a biopsy yesterday.
Little baby Kurtis woke up today in the ICU. He has been intubated for the last 24 hours, but the tube has now been removed and he is breathing fine with the regular oxygen aid that he had been using before that. The tumor in his body could not be removed yet because it was a LOT bigger than the surgeons anticipated. So, unfortunately, the only solution is to now use chemotherapy to shrink the tumor. The good news is that he will most likely be coming home in between the treatments. This is what we hope will happen later even though we have no way of knowing if this is really going to be the case (keep your fingers crossed!!). Anyway this is the best treatment that he can get and all the research tells us that his odds are very good. Please keep him (and us!!) in your prayers. We need all the help we can get at this point.

Mike,
I just got your email and every prayer will include your family and especially your baby. If you guys need anything whatsoever call me, no matter what time it is.
Love,
Bean
