No more tubes!!

Author: Daddy Mikey Goodrich

One of the more recent changes with our little bear is the absense of his feeding tube. It was in there for a reason, but it forcefully and accidentally removed. (Details Omitted) It didn't really hurt him more than it just surprised him like none other. There was a piece of tape that was holding the tube in place that got ripped off, and the tube just slid out. He did have a very sad look on his face and there wasn't much crying. He has been a lot happier lately which suggests that the tumor is shrinking. His catecholamine storm have really subsided as well. There are even times when he is able to get through them without the aid of medications. For those of you who didn't know, catecholamine storms are essentially what makes his blood pressure and heart rate get out of control. He is actually starting to smile at me now which enough great for me because he usually reserves his smiles for the nurses. He's a flirt already... Melanie is doing well. She spends most of her time up at the hospital and she is scheduled to come home twice a week to get to sleep, but there are other times that others volunteer so that she can come more often too. Really, there are no compliants other than we want him to come home sooner rather than later. I spend my time chasing our monkey around the house as she perpetually destroys it. It's just what she does when she's not asleep. That's all for now folks!

PS: there are rumors of Kurtis being home by the end of the week, but so far they're only rumors.

He's a tough little guy for hanging in there! I hope the rumors of him coming home turn out to be true...and I hope he keeps smiling for you guys!! (Something about those little smiles warm our hearts even when times are tough).
