Remission!!

Author: Mike and Melanie

Well Kurtis had his follow-up scans yesterday, and there is no more cancer in his body!! We are so happy we can't even contain ourselves, we have been so blessed! Kurtis will continue to have scans every three months for the next two years, and then less often for the following three just to make sure the cancer doesn't come back.

Kurtis was so good yesterday, he didn't get to eat from 3 am on, and didn't get sedated until 12:15. He was so hungry, but he was being such a trooper. Then after all the scans, he sure ate a lot! He was so good to greet everyone with his big smile. When we went up to the oncology floor, all the nurses and techs gathered around to play with him, they are so funny!

We had quite the adventure last night trying to come home from the hospital. We were on the freeway going about 15 miles an hour, from 6th south all the way down to 106th south, when we decided to pull off and see if the storm would cool off, we were listening to the radio and heard that the point of the mountain and Lehi were in pretty bad shape. We went to dinner and then to the mall. We were mostly worried about going home because we didn't want to leave Emily anywhere over night. Well, we decided that we better stay in town, because of the weather. We decided to find some kind of grocery store so that we could buy a couple of things that we might need, so we asked for some directions and were headed out to Walmart, when we saw target right by us, it was going to save us a drive, and we didn't want to get lost (we don't know the Salt Lake area at all!).
Anyways, right as we walk in the door we see one of Kurtis' most favorite nurses from Primary Childrens, we told her our plan and she invited us over, which was such a blessing, because most of the hotels were booked, or wanted a fortune for a room. So we went to her house and had such a nice time. We made it home wonderfully this morning.

Anyways, all is well, thanks again for everything!!
